HTTP Rewrite

HTTP rewriting is essentially taking one part of a URL as it is seen my the browser, and translating it behind the scenes to point to another. This is done so that the front-end addresses are human-readable, and make some logical sense, and the backend can utilise various ways of addressing the source of the pages that are presented from more complex database queries, or multiple website CMS implementations, forums, and other features.
